Lt. Harpster (promoted from Bosun) didn't believe standing Alternator watches qualified as work. Therefore Henninger, Lee and the rest of the "radio gang" were given extra duty on a regular basis.Location: South side of transmitter building.

Sentenced to extra duty for the offense of being Alternator Watch Standers! This enabled the general duty sailors who should be doing the job to lie on their bunks and read comic books.
